NATALIE DON MSP IMPRESSED BY GLASGOW AIRPORT’S DEVELOPMENTS

Natalie Don MSP was impressed to see the steps Glasgow Airport has been taking to keep passengers safe in the COVID-19 pandemic and minimising environmental impacts during a tour today.

The MSP for Renfrewshire North and West enjoyed both behind the scenes and frontline views of the airport’s facilities whilst being guided through the terminal buildings and airfield by Operations Director, Ronald Leitch.

Natalie Don MSP said: “I was grateful to Ronald for giving me a tour of Glasgow Airport, including a rare visit to the runway which would normally not be possible at this time of year.

“It was very impressive to see developments – such as the COVID-19 testing centre – keeping passengers safe during the pandemic and I was also pleased to discover all electricity used in the airport is from renewable sources and carbon neutrality status has been achieved for emissions under its direct control.

“As the airport is a major employer of Renfrewshire North and West constituents and hugely important to Scotland’s economy, I was eager to visit as soon as possible and I am keen to see the airport's recovery taking place in the months ahead.”
